Without a doubt< I would recommend Shredder Chess. It costs roughly $8 in
the app store. It works great on an iPhone 5 using Voice-Over. The program
has won 12 computer chess tournaments in a row. The top rating is 2,600
ELO, and the bottom lever is 850 ELO, so it goes from very easily beaten to,
"Oh, forget it! I don't have a chance!" (grin) One neat feature is that
it will adjust it's playing strength as you play. If you win, it will raise
it's level for the next game. If you get beaten, it will lower it's skill
level for the next game. And at the end of the game, it will tell you your
estimated rating. It also has 1,000 chess puzzles for you to solve, which
you can do with Voice-Over, that will also give you a skill rating.

Be positive! When it comes to being defeated, if you think you're finished,
you! really! are! finished!

Subject: Re: [Audyssey] Accessible Chess Tutor
Hi Charles and All,
After searching for any information about Accessible Chess Tutor, I found
a page about it, along with a brief description on how to use it.
Basically you use the arrow keys, Space and Enter. However, nothing I do
makes the game read any acceptable moves for me, moves the pieces to a
particular square, etc. At one point it even crashed on me. Given all
these issues, I've given up on it.
Speaking of Chess, for those of you who play it using an iOS device, which
apps would you recommend?
Thanks.
Yours Sincerely,
Kelly John Sapergia
