Hi Rob,
I really do disagree with that. There are many reasons I can look to, 
but VB 6 Pro is not a great choice. XP and Vista are moving to a 
net-centric platform, and VB 6 is being dropped and unsupported by 
Microsoft. Another reason is modern programming design is all 
oop-centric moddled after fully oop languages such as Java, C#.NET, 
VB.NET, and VB 6's oop features are laughable.
The VB.NET Express 2005 IDE and compiler is actually quite good. It 
certainly is able to do allot, and if you get the .NET Framework 2.0 
documentation that comes with the SDK you'll find out you can do allot 
with it.
