Weerd. Usually when I've deleted a game I've had the option to remove the
data.

Well the most obvious way is to delete the game from your Iphone, you'll
be asked whether to keep the data or not, then you can download it again
from the ap store, (you won't need to pay again sinse it'll be authorized
for your Apple Id just like if you downloaded on another Ios device).
Some games such as King of Dragon pass also have a reset achievements
option as well.
If there is another, more stable method of deleting data that doesn't
require deleting the actual game and redownloading it, I'm afraid I don't
know what it is.
