No, but I have found sights in the past that discuss how to create sound
effects. Allot of times it is simple creativity and a good sound editor
like Soundforge or Goldwave. Take walking through water. You can fill a
tub of water and splash round in it a wwhile, recording it, trim and
edit, and use it for step sounds, swimming effects, etc.
For say a soldier or storm trooper one way to make them is record
someones voice mix in some static, holo the voice using Goldwave, and
then drop out all the base. Once done you have an effective radio sound
for someones helment.
For stabbing sounds sticking a large knife in a fruit or vegitable can
make an autable flesh like sound of someone getting stabbed. I imagine
depending on the fruit or vegitable being used it will give a different
effect.
Rain is easy. Go out in the rain and record it. Walk around in your
drive way if you have gravel to get a really crunchy surface effect.
Doors well go to a room with no noise and open and close the door a few
times. If it is a bit squeeky cool as it gives it more sound. alot of
things around your house can be used to make effects.
As for lasers and things you probably want a test tone generator or
some kind of sound producing device that can make sounds of various
pitches, lengths, and that gets to be technical.
The light saber effect is nothing more than a humming tv tube sped up to
well, have that hum you hear.
In short it is a work of art, and most sounds are a matter of creativity
or the money and time to record things.
