Dragon and broardsides both seemed comparatively short, while starcaptain was a good bit longer, and zombie exodus is of course pretty huge.

The only thing I disliked about dragon and broadsides was that you didn't seem to be able to actually die in either of them. In my last playthru of choice of the dragon, I actively tried to make the most utterly insane choices, indeed I had rather a lot of fun playing as a totally psychotic dragon and just obliterating everything, whether it seemed a good idea or not, but I still didn't lose the game which was a little disappointing, sinse if your choices don't have the consequences of making you fail at something it takes a bit out of the game.

Star captain it is possible to die and lose the game, but only if you really push some dramatically silly situatiions, like when your ship is crashing into the planet at the start spending your time beating your Ai with a wrench.

Zombie exodus however is a really! different story, and some of the choices and consequences there can really affect you and seriously make bad stuff happen, which distinctly makes it more challenging, though also fits the zombocalypse theme quite nicely. Actually in a way I like the fact that with any zombie encounter I'm worried my character get munched if I don't pick the right options sinse it very much adds to the feeling of having to survive. The only thing I don't like about zombie exodus is that I didn't seem to get much relationship choice. I played through with a female character and two out of the three relationships I was offered with survivers were still with women, indeed I'd taken up a relationship with a female surviver before I knew a relationship with a male one was available.

I'd much rather the author did as some of the choiceofgames titles did and just streight out asked you whether you were male or female and which gender you preferd than just having different random npcs react to you the same way irrispective of your gender choice at the start of the game, sinse if I'm going to play a character who is gay I'd rather know about it first :D.

Beware the grue!
