Hi Josh, Basically, you don't have to change any conf files. Just write a startup script to probe the Speakup kernel module, load Espeakup, and start speakup. I'm not in Linux at the moment so can't copy and send a copy of the script, but I'll do so next time I'm in Linux if I remember.
