Hi Dorothy.
Firstly hellow and welcome.
A good place to look for games in general is audiogames.net
www.audiogames.net which has a large database of over 500 accessible games
with descriptions.
The pcs games to play online list is also worth a look.
As for games to try, well sinse you mention muds, Alteraeon is probably
where to start as that is both the most blind/vi friendly mud, and has it's
own soundpack that virtually turns it into an audiogame (just bare in mind
most other muds don't have that level of sounds), it has some very easy
lower level areas, lots to do and a friendly community,
Find out more on the alteraeon website over at
http://www.dentinmud.org/alter/
For first time audiogames, well it depends upon what your interested in and
what platforms you have access too sinse there is a lot of good stuff on Ios
as well as Pc and some stuff for Android too.
Jim Kitchin over at http://www.kitchensinc.net/ has a huge collection of
free games, which go from sports simulations to trivia and computerized
versions of traditional games like monopoly and game of life, arcade style
games and even some x rated adult games if that is your thing.
www.gmagames.com is probably a good place to start, particularly sinse they
have some of the most landmark titles like the extremely good shades of doom
and Gma tank Commander, if your looking for something simpler and more
arcade style well the recently released beatstar, a huge varient on boppit
is worth a look go to http://oriolgomez.com/en_index.php
There is a lot of other stuff, from complex rpg games (sadly not too many),
to simple arcade blaster games, racing games, stratogy games, mmorpgs you
can play in your web browser and as I said lots of interesting stuff for Ios
and some stuff for Android, so I'd just recommend checking out anything that
looks vaguely interesting and asking any questions you need.
Welcome to the list, and I hope you have fun.
all the best,
Dark.
