Ok, what exactly do you want, I have a lot of games, some of them are full versions like grail to the thief so obviously I can't archive those.
I have a lot of old dos games, therre is jims games which are mirrored now.
There are others, sadly I think us guys at realitysoftware have abandoned a lot of our old code but I may have some of it, well sadly not the really old stuff. I have quite a few old z codes, and a lot of agt and tads games and their compilers, if you are on the dosbox list you probably saw me upload that entire archive and its been up here a few times. How would the request system work, I can't store every game, so we would need some sort of server or servers.
who  would fund the prroject or would people contribute to it.
I could probably give about 2-10 bucks every so often but with sertain family funding going away later this year I can't just chuck cash at the project. I have seen other projects on bt syncs, dropboxes, and ftp sites publicly accessable get full of viruses, worms and trogens to deleted files and the like to people hacking computers with stuff inside files though. I guess I'd be happy to submit to it but I don't have much of a net connection data wize the 30gb cap is often overloaded with online streams and I don't want to overload it myself with extranious data.

dropbox file requests or just plane old email. The reason for this is mostly 
related to web site management - I could probably build a page for each author, 
but keeping it updated would be a pain, and it'd require huge amounts of 
storage space (my personal archive of installers is 8gb, and its really not 
that comprehensive).

I've got a few reasons for wanting to work on this.

Firstly, is the fact that there's no real central location for games. A lot of 
people have installers, and pretty much any game can be found if you do enough 
digging on audiogames.net, but not all of them are still hosted, which makes 
finding games (like rail racer) a pain.

Secondly, is that I'd personally love to see a really solid location where we 
can browse and access old abandonware titles or just older versions of games 
that aren't on the dev's web site anymore.

How do you all feel about this (developers, I'd love to hear from you 
especially), and if I were to try to make this a reality, who'd be willing to 
dedicate some time to help me put together the archive?
