Hi Kenny, When you create a new park you actually begin with an empty pitch. There are no rides etc by default.
As for how many rides etc to add that is entirely personal. There is no right or wrong answer how many rides to add the first couple of weeks of production. I generally go to the bank multiple times to take out lone's, and build as much stuff as I can in order to get the park up and operational as soon as possible. Of course, that means I have to spend several weeks of game time to pay off those lone's. Cheers!
