Hi Cara.
Unusual if you can't choose your gender as well as your romantic
preferences, that's usually a standard option in nearly all the cog and hg
titles, and certainly existed in choice of romance, broadsides and choice of
zombies.
I tend to liketo alternate my character's gender myself and vary whether I
play as a male or female, indeed broadsides I played a guy, but in choice of
zombies and romance I played a girl.
I think choice of zombies was my favourite thus far, though choice of
romance had a lot of possibilities, so if I play that again I'll probably
play as a guy.
Broadsides is a rolocking good fun naval adventure, with a little romance
added,but it was produced very early in Cog history before the choice script
coding was as sophisticated as it is now, so is a trifle predictable.
Like choice of the dragon, still well worth a play, but not quite as
complex in the way the choices interact as some other titles.
Getting back to Gender, the only one of the cog/hg games that I've played
thus far that surprised me on gender was Zombie exodus, because even though
you could choose the gender of your characters, you didn't get a variety
about your relationships, you'd just have various people offer to start a
relationship with you depending upon how you treated them irrispective of
your gender.
So, I was a little surprised when in my first playthrough my tough as nales
lady carpenter turned out to be gay, while in my second, my intelligent male
character, though he had a relationship with a woman was offered a fling
with another man.
It's not that I minded particularly, it was just a bit of a surprise hen
I'd not specified my character's preferences at the start.
Oh ell, I suppose the zombocalypse would be the best time to come out of the
closet :D.
