This depends strongly on the game - if screen readers are supported at all, there should be a setting somewhere.

I have checked to make sure the nvda controller client.dll is in the folder, and even reinstalling NVDA doesn't do anything. I know it works because my other computer loads the game using nvda just fine, so it has to be something with this machine.
