Hi lori.
levelling is one of the problems with the game imho, levelling creatures up
is a major pain.
You can start with a weaker creature in the first position and then switch
out to your main fighter, but even then the xp gains aren't as large.
Generally the only way I've found to do it is find an area with manamon who
have resistances to the creature I have to level, indeed resistances play a
massive part in the game. I was advised to play with the resistance chart
open and keep checking it, also to check the sounds for when a creature is
hit with something they're strong or weak to.
But yes, lots of levelling, though if you have a level 14 creature at this
point in the game you shouldn't be doing too badly, the first gym is a
toughy.
As far as directions go, you need to go through the woods from amica town to
hazeldale where the first stadium is.
The woods are out of the west exit from amica (the trail to the east with
the rivier is a good place to catch some manamon, in particular jacanapes
who's a rather handy magic type).
The path in the woods is something of a zigzag. as I recall you need to
begin by going south and wend your way around a bit. You'll know your on the
right track because you'll eventually run in to a couple of signs pointing
the directions and a guy who will heal your creatures.

Subject: [Audyssey] manimon questions
Hi guys, I'm having a few problems leveling my chars in Manimon. My main
char is level 14 now, and when I'm catching smaller weaker creatures, they
arn't of much use and die really fast. I'm going to start my game over to
see if catching them earlier in the game helps, but how do I get out of
the woods to the first stadium? I go south, but when I find walls and
head north again to find the next west opening, I keep running into the
same critters over and over again, so I must be going round in circles. I
also keep bumping into trees and a river which is too deep to walk in.
Finally, does anyone have any general tips on gameplay? I wish there was
a way to switch manimon automatically instead of having to go into the
menu to do it. Over all though, I'm adicted.
