Hi Z.
Firstly, if you give an idea of what sort of games your interested in, then perhaps people can make suggestions, though of course there is a lot to find out about and it's always great exporing and trying things out yourself..

Well as Michael said there is www.audiogames.nett. It has descriptions of over 570 accessible games in audio, and text, you can also use the "Search games" link on the front page to do things like search for games of a given genre or from a given developer. The forum is also a good place to ask about accessible games, indeed along with this mailing list it's the major place on the internet for accessible games discussion.

There is also the huge list of "Fantastic games and where to find them" over at www.pcsgames.net. This is a massive list of websites with descriptions.

The 7-128 games team have a list of top websites for gamers who are blind, which is maintained every year, check http://www.7128.com/top25/topsitesblind.html to see it. there are then several pages over on www.whitestick.co.uk which can be very useful, such as "games to play online" and games to play offline.

If you know what game your looking for and just want the setup file, a lot of older games are hosted over at http://www.applevis.com/ which is very awesome, though note that that site is more about the hosting than the explanations for most of their games (for explanations try audiogames.net or pcsgames).

then if your an Ios user, there is http://www.applevis.com/ which has anything and everything to do with Ios games, and indeed games for the mac too.

hth.

All the best,

Dark.

Can sombody tell me the best sites to get audio games because I know when I get my laptop I'll probably want to play some of theese games. I'm a fan of
Destination Mars, and I've played Jim's games but I haven't been much of a
gamer lately since I don't have my own computer. Soon I think all of that
will change. I'll keep you guys updated.

Hi.

Parts of the archive must still be working. I was able to download
Yellowbonnet from the archive just now.

Hi all,

As some of you may already know, over the past year or so I've been
working on developing a central website to host old and abandoned games.

At long last, the audiogames archive is live and ready for use.

There are currently titles from 39 different developers available for
download, with a total archive size of about 12.7gb.

The archive also hosts mods, soundpacks, maps, and other expansions for
games, though the selection of these is slightly limited at the moment.

In addition, wherever possible links to developer's sites and downloads
have also been included, meaning that you can use the archive as a way to
look up a developer's website or a particular game's info.

The archive is at (read the below notes before you visit though):

www.agarchive.net

The faq and about the archive section is at:

www.agarchive.net/pages/faq.html

Notes:

The archive is very much in its testing phase at the moment.

If you notice anything amiss (links not working, broken installers, typos,
etc) lease take a look at the contact page, and get in touch.

If you have some content you don't see listed and would like to help us
get it posted, please also get in touch. This especially applies to things
like adventure at c stages and top speed cars.

Finally, you should make sure that you have a file archiver, preferably
7zip, installed before you download games. Many of the files on the site
have been compressed or repackaged as 7z archives, and standard windows
cannot open these.

I sincerely hope this helps all of you who have posted messages looking
for games recently.

Enjoy the archive, and happy gaming!
