Any of these games can be made easier if you know how to make a mapping
deck.
A mapping deck starts out with a card documenting the entrance room and
its exits.
That card gets a number on it too. Each exit on that card gets a number
too.
So the card number is unique and all exit numbers are unique. So card 1
which would be the entrance room might have hypothetically four exits
into other parts of the game say north south east and west. Each of
those exits would get a number say from 2-5.
Then move through each exit and document the room and put its card
number on each of those other cards.
Then it's a good idea to put a band around the deck or put the deck in a
bag.
If useful to document other features of rooms you may need to use 4x6 or
5x8 cards if doing it in braille.
Why to use cards and decks and not a single sheet of paper is cards can
be added to decks no problem but a single sheet of paper can run out
very quickly.
I hope this helps. This also means first few times environments get
entered and searched you do exploration missions then once you have the
lay of the land documented you'll know where to go and what to do so
then go in to actually get the quest done or win the game.

Why is it hard to play? I know its a difficult game, and you need to somehow
keep the layout in your head. I used to play it many decades ago, and I think
I had to draw out a map.
