TDV is not written in basic.
As I recall, its mostly cSmall, with some .net included.
To compile you'll need visual studio (or at least that's what the gitHub page 
states), and .net installed.

Interesting, basic interpreters exist under command line linux that can 
run gwbasic code.  If I were to do anything with this, I'd download the 
source and play with a copy of the source code.
