thought after you talk to the researcher he tells ya to go kill the rebel leaer. ten after that he sends ya for another crystal. Or could have that totally bass ackwards. I paid the 250 gold to the gate keeper to get the supposedly replacement tracer crystal, went back to the village and was told "you've either already completed this quest or are trying to do it in the wrong order" when I tried to give it to the blackmage. I think there's a problem in that quest somewhere since I have no idea who to talk to for the next step.
