You must get four items, all of which must be unceremoniously thrown into that pot. The four items are all obtained from creatures, none of which are the spider, that can be found intheir own little passages throught that forest area. Depending on your melee, you should have a fairly easy time of destroying them, unless the spider hurts you a tad too much. Good luck with that adventure. It's quite worth it.
