Hi Sky, I can't remember off hand where the review was. I listened to a demo of it on VIP Conduit a few weeks back and it was well received. I know it has its critics because it obviously hasn't got the power of commercial screen readers. I looked at writing a screen reader a few months ago and made a start on it but then I found Thunder and figured that my version was unlikely to be any better and there was no way I could compete with their price, so there was little point continuing.
Thunder may not be very powerful but my hunch is that people who may once have bought Guide, which is an all-in-one package (word-processor and email) for computer beginners, would be better off using Thunder and Wordpad and Outlook Express. The other thing about Thunder is that it was written in Visual Basic and I think I read somewhere they were looking to work with developers to improve the product. Anyway, I really just mentioned Thunder because it's already out there and free and clearly Tom has his hands full with Monty and Raceway.
