Hi We must distinguish between the two train sims in question: BVE and Spoorsim. Spoorsim is the game that came with limited speech. Driving a train is not only about controlling a loco's regulator and brake, especially a steam engine. Amongst others, you get a lot of info from the various gages in your locomotive, which helps you to better control your engine, which incidentally, is spoken to you if speech is turned on in Spoorsim.
Two more things about the game: 1. Spoorsim wasn't meant at all to be accessible for blind users, the developer eventually just included some speech, after I approached him, to see how we would get along with the game. 2. The game as we played it, was also in it's initial stage of development, I don't think that we could even call it a beta version. "in which case, just load a wave file." Heh! If you're not a train fanatic, that's probably the thing to say. No offence taken though. -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Ken the Crazy Sent: Thursday, April 19, 2007 7:52 PM To: Gamers Discussion list Subject: Re: [Audyssey] train sym I don't think that train sim was very accessible at all--if it's the one I'm thinking, with two trains and you control the pressure and the break but none of the other controls work? No, not accessible at all--unless you just load up the game to hear the sound of a train taking off --in which case, just load a wave file. Ken Downey President DreamTechInteractive!
