Hello,

Azabat games are usually sold on CD because they are designed for blind and
partially sighted beginners. All the sounds are built into the CD, so it
doesn't even use SAPI, and there is no installation required. A blind person
with little computer experience can receive the disk in the post, pop it
into a computer and play the games without any installation or assistance.
There are 4 games in each volume (or 6 in volume 2) so as to keep the cost
per game down as much as possible but they can be bought singularly.

The version of Backgammon that Lora bought uses SAPI, so no screenreader
required. You can download it and try it out then buy the registration code
if you like it. There isn't another accessible version of Backgammon
anywhere so I converted the one I'd written for volume 4 into SAPI (to make
the download reasonably small) in order to test the market. People have
often suggested I go the download route and I figured that when I sold 10
copies of the programme I'd look at converting some of my other games and
make them available in this way. That milestone has still to be reached.
Fortunately, the CD versions have sold better.

Azabat are the only accessible computer games sold by the RNIB, the first
volume is available in German (from Caretec and Marland), and all the Azabat
products are available locally in the US from Independent Living Aids.

Steve
