Hi Michael, It sounds like you are at a ledge that requires a vanishing platform to cross. What you do in that case is wait for the platform to reappear, jump onto it, cross it quickly, and get off before it vanishes again. You'll know the platforms by there hovering machine like quality. They are large floating metal disks that vanish and appear randomly in the game over some fire pits, ledges, etc to cross, but stay on them to long and your a dead man.
