Nicol, it sounds like you downloaded the standard Quake install which 
has the graphics and such enabled.  This will actually work, as it is 
technically a flavor of AQ, so try this;

Go to your run dialogue, and enter the following, making sure to make the 
path correct...

"C:\Program Files\AudioQuake\perl.exe" start.pl

This should run the game, however, this really can all be avoided, if you 
simply go to the AQ folder as I've been mentioning, and download the actual 
Audio Quake installations which are actual exe files...

Just out of curiosity, it sounds to me that you downloaded that file from 
the root folder, and not the AQ folder, is that correct?...

What is the actual name of the zip folder you've got?...  The Audio Quake 
installs, as I've said several times now on list, ARE IN THE AQ 
FOLDER.  These are actual .exe installs so that's probably going to be what 
you're looking for.
