Hi Davy,

This is apparently the file that is in my winkit.zip install file. It is what
is on both of my Windows XP computers and all 22 of my sapi5 voices are working
very well on both computers

 Directory of C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32
SAPI DLL 696,320 08/18/2001 09:00 AM

Also the one time that my Microsoft sapi5 voices broke the DelUserLex.exe file
fixed them right up. Which is the same file that can be found on the Freedom
Scientific and GW Micro site.

Hi,

Since Jim Kitchen's SAPI fix program didn't solve anything on my system, I
decided to try something out myself. And here is what fixed my SAPI (except
from one voice, but I might look into that later). This fix is meant for a
SAPI 5 that has been broken by installing Game Menu and it may be total
rubbish.
- I read the installation log of Jim's Game Menu and I found that the only
really interesting change was the replacement of the file SAPI.DLL.
- The SAPI.DLL-file included in the Game Menu package is not the original
Windows XP-version. So first make sure that after installing Game Menu the
file C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\SAPI.DLL 724 kB in size is.
- If this is not the case, get the right version from somewhere else on your
harddrive or from here:
http://www.dlldump.com/download-dll-files_new.php/dllfiles/S/sapi.dll/5.1.4111.00/download.html
- Make sure that the right file is located in your
C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32-directory and that it is called "sapi.dll" (without the
quotes obviously). Notice that the whole filename is in lower-case letters.
- Restart any software that uses SAPI 5 or just reboot your PC.

This worked quite well on my system, hope it also helps other people out...

     Jim
