I haven't tried this with VB 2005, but I know VB 2003 had a wizard that 
would allow you to import a VB 6 project,and it would attempt to convert 
it to VB .Net.
In most cases the code was usable, but some of the code like DirectX 
would have to be upgraded by hand to fit with DirectX 9.0C using the 
managed libs rather than the DirectX 8 com libs.
I honestly don't think that converting some of Jim's games would be all 
that difficult if he used an upgrade wizard, and then edited the source 
by hand to work cleaner.
