Thank you much for the suggestions, but I have purchased the program that
creates the self extracting WinZip files, so that is what I am going to use.
Plus it is so easy for the end user I E just press enter and the new game (it's
files) are extracted to the Kitchensinc folder by default.
BTW zip files have been the standard for a very long time. You know first
PKZip and now WinZip. Don't know of anyone who has had any trouble with them
ever. Heck Windows even ships with a WinZip program.

Still, compressing an executable will not always result in anything good.
I.E. try to pack an executable with WinRAR. You'd just save a few kB or so.
So if you really want to save space, use a packer for portable executables
like PECompact (DanZ Games did so), UPX or Shrinker.
