Hi Jim, Before releasing Beta 3 I experimented with that very issue. Unfortunately, I was unable to correct the problem without the registry keys being manually deleted. For some reason beta 2 left keys in the registry which were the wrong data type, and Beta 3 was unable to reset those keys to something else. I could have written a clean tool to delete those keys, but since this should only effect the update between Beta 2 and Beta 3 I felt a detailed set of directions would be satisfactory for most users. I know very well how dangerous editing the registry can be unless you have an idea of what is what. Up until a couple of months ago I was holy uneducated on how the registry works, and didn't know much more than the general population. However, my recent education on the registry has given me a clearer sense of how it works, and an idea of what area of the registry a novis can manage, and which you don't touch with a million foot poll. <Grin> It so happens that HKEY_Current_User/Software usually just holds application settings, product keys, and accidently killing anything in that branch will do not much more harm than accidently unregistering a program or losing your favorite ssettings. Not pleasant, but not the death of your computer either.
