Not to mention Microsoft is making it more difficult for developers to
easily accomplish online based games. Direct Play, Microsoft's
long-time, network gaming component just got canned in the November 2007
release of DirectX 9.0C.
that forces the would be network game developer to completely write a
network based solution from scratch using the winsock API. Frankly, that
sucks, and it is one reason I am not currently doing a network version
of Raceway.
