Hi,
Yeah, there are several games as well that have a special training level
in them with a special trainer who teaches you how to play.
Using one of my favorite games of all time as an Example, in the Tomb
Raider series there is always a special training level where Lara talks
you through jumping, running, climbing, etc. She walks you step by step
through her house picking up and collecting items for your mission. The
exception to this is Tomb Raider Last Revelation where the training
level is a flashback of Lara at age 16 being trained by Dr. Von Croy.
The Star Trek Elite Force series always has a similar training level. In
Elite Force I you get to train one on one with Lieutenant Tuvock on the
holodeck. He teaches you to run, jump, collect items, and coolest of all
talks you through a combat with a Herogen Warrior.
One of the Top Gun games I use to play, not sure which one, started off
with a training mission. Mavric would take off and you got to play
Mavric as you trained against pretend Mig fighters before you got to
actually mix it up with real Migs.
Of course the Bavisoft games do have there help systems in Chillingham
and Grizly Gulch which come in handy, and might be considered as sort of
a trainer in this instants.
Anyway, the point is that having trainers in games is not unusual. I've
played a few that begin you off easy with a character talking you
through the basics before you got to go out and bust some enemy behind.
