Hmmm, I've heard of somebody taking it down with a 71 Mr, but unless your at "Are you sure this enemy isn't already finished?" You might want to go away and look for some better weaponry or armour to increase your Mr.
Btw, you mention weaponry skill, have you got any weaponry subskills? They would certainly increase your Mr. there are quests where you can learn Weaponry (slashing), and Weaponry (bashing), for free as a reward. Hth. beware the Grue!
