Griphook only gives semi-respectable prices for high end weapons and armour. I'm a hard bargainer, though, and want better than half worth for unmatched items, so I end up just holding onto them against the day when I'm either desperate for gold or his GMNess puts in a shop with better prices for high end stuff. I doubt he'd be too interested in a simple gold ring. I believe the market in Graldoc gives you 75% of worth up to 1000 gold, so 14's likely the best price you're going to get.
