Didn't you try that Sapi repair tool on Thomas Wards' site? At least I think that's where it is. I had the same problem but I ran the file and it seemed to work just fine after that. Time is an illusion, lunchtime doubly so. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Zachary Kline" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Saturday, January 12, 2008 6:16 PM Subject: [Audyssey] At wits End with Sapi 5 and Games
Hi, I'm at my limit with Sapi 5 and games of any description. I don't know why, but it seems that almost spontaniously Sapi5 voices on the whole just stopped working. This causes a great deal of annoyance: I can still use Elloquence for speech with Window-Eyes, but none of the games which use Sapi--Montezuma's Revenge, any of the Blind Gamers series from Spoonbill Software, etc. will work. In the Control Panel, I've investigated and found that none of the speech voices will preview. "This voice cannot be played. Please try selecting another voice or a different output device." I've tried that, and neither seems to fix anything. I've ran innumerable repair tools, tried deleting the user lexicon file, nothing seems to work. Any ideas on what might be causing this? Thanks much, Zack. _________________________________________________________________ Make distant family not so distant with Windows Vista® + Windows Live™. http://www.microsoft.com/windows/digitallife/keepintouch.mspx?ocid=TXT_TAGLM_CPC_VideoChat_distantfamily_012008 --- Gamers mailing list __ [email protected] If you want to leave the list, send E-mail to [EMAIL PROTECTED] You can make changes or update your subscription via the web, at http://audyssey.org/mailman/listinfo/gamers_audyssey.org.
