Hi, Chris. Well, that particular statue is one of the creatures in the game which adapts to your current melee rating so no mattter what your melee rating is the game will always reset its mr and stamina to keep it tough. However, its strength is also its weakness. For example, if you unequip any shields and swords you have tell the game you want to fight that statue, and just before you press enter on the begin combat button reequip all your weapons you will be able to defeat him in combat. The reason is the game will drastically reset his melee and stamina rating for your lower stats, but will not update when you suddenly upgrade to your maximum stats. Cool huh?
