Yeah, he can be quite vicious. And his special attacks don't help one bit. If you're going to use magic on him though I suggest Shadow Magic since more often than not it affects you more than him. He's still resistant but I've noticed that a lot of enemies with magic resistance tend to be the least resistant to Shadow Magic since it generally just raises your MR. But I'd definitely go in there with a full supply of Blessings, Quickstone heals and saved twenties. They'll make that fight at least a little easier.
