Just to throw in a good word or two: I've played It's a Crime from KJC
Games, and it's a great game, and very playable without any assistance
whatsoever. (Actually, when I started playing It's a Crime years ago, it
was still a postal game, and I didn't have a scanner, so back then I had
someone read my turns to me.) Nowadays, with the turns all being
electronic, I'm on my own, and I enjoy playing.

Subject: [Audyssey] good news about KJC games

Greetings!

Okay, for people who didn't get the previous message, KJC are the people who
make a variety of online and play by E-mail games found at
http://www.kjcgames.com/index.php

As I'm in the same country as them, I phoned them up to talk about
accessibility related stuff.

the bad news is the games Warlord and Monster island require graphical pdf
attached maps in order to play.

the good news is the others are all html or plain text. the map graphics
(such as the quadrent map for space troopers), are only overview jpgs and
the game can be played successfully without them. the games do involve
tables, but this shouldn't be a problem, and the missions andother
objectives don't require them and can be done looking at the text
coordinates of the squares on the main game pages (look at the sample page
for space troopers).

the various football management games such as extra time and eto manager are
all apparently plane text as well.

the boss also was incredibly nice, and asked me to contact him if I ran into
any trouble, ---- so if anyone has problems with the games let me know.

the games themselves have a large exploration focus as well as resource
management. they've been running for literally 16 years, starting as snale
male games back in 1989. Thus their main game, phenix has over thirty
thousand text pages, ---- which sounds good for exploration fans like me.

It's also worth noting that the games work differently as to how often you
get game turns, some are completely online, others have action points to
control one thing in the game, ---- such as one squadren of space marines or
one ship in phenix.

I'm now going to sign up to space troopers as a tester, and maybe Quest and
some of the others as well.

the only slight downer is some of the game prices on the commercial ones
seem a tad expensive to me, but I'll try things out first and see how they
work before passing judgement, ----- besides, space troopers is free.

It wa actually nice to talk to someone by phone about game accessibility for
once, rather than doing it by E-mail.

so, I hoe that clarrifies things for people, and thanks of course to Orin
for first coming across the site.

Beware the Grue!

Dark.
