Hi Will, Well, at this point the game is basically a lot of draft documents, notes, and sketches for new level designs. It isn't going to be totally different, but it isn't going to be the same game either. I am currently in the process of rewriting the game core, and one of the things I am looking at for the new game core is dropping directX support, and moving to SDL.net. By using SDL.net instead of DirectX that means I will be able to create versions of MOTA for Mac OS Lepoard and Ubuntu Linux 8.04 via mono. That won't be very hard since Ubuntu Linux 8.04 has a C-Sharp compiler called GTK-Sharp which works fairly well with Orca. With any luck I can just recompile the game, use dpkg to build a package for Linux, and release the Linux port the same day as the Windows version is released. Assuming the new side-scroller engine works well I can use the engine to build future side-scrollers that will run on Mac, Linux, and Windows equally. However, at the moment I am still in the research faze of the new game engine. I could go Java but I think I will likely go C-Sharp with a SDL.net core since SDL is the game programming API standard for Linux and Mac OS X. To say the least it is much easier to program for.Though, my decision isn't absolute yet.
