Hey Tyler. I don't have any light perception any longer so I cannot comment on the display although my nephew, the one I have mentioned before who is a big gamer, says it's the best looking display he's seen on a handheld. I believe there are four brightness levels but I am not positive on that.
I agree with you on all points that you mention, the unit really does have a nice design that is very pleasant and easy to handle and work with. I keep a spare cleaning cloth in my carrying case and am forever taking it out and wiping the unit down lol. Before I will let anyone play on it, am I am very picky who I will allow to, I ask them if their hands are reasonably clean. That case sounds really cool, all I have is the standard psp case and while it seems quite sturdy and well padded enough to protect the unit if you are reasonably careful with it which I am, I very well may check out that aluminum case if it isn't ridiculously expensive. The standard case is really small and has no room for the adapters and such which is kind of a drag. So if you can tell me where to look for that I'd appreciate it. I am used to that sort of power plug, a lot of things use them so I don't really mind it. I see what you are saying about that little cover deal on the memory stick slot fortunately I don't take it out very often at all. As for the buttons sticking and so forth, that is the main reason to make sure your hands are clean when playing that is the best way to keep this from eventually happening.
