Greetings gamers,
Che Martin here from blind adrenaline simulations with an update on our next
big title called Battle Racer.
This is a significant upgrade to Rail Racer, and will allow players to battle
each other on the most unique racing environments in any racing game.
A handful of very good beta testers are helping me test this one out, most of
the work being done by Steady and Kelvin so far and they are doing an excellent
job I must say.
Here are the features we are currently testing out:
Firing on your opponent with a 50 caliber machine gun, with full tracking and
lock on target sounds.
Dropping mines on the player behind you, which they must jump to avoid.
Repair mode so you can divert some of your engine power to fixing your
damaged racer.
An energy shield to repel those 50 caliber bullets, but once again you must
make the decision to power up the shield at the expense of engine power and
speed.
A brand new power up system, so that when you go through a power ring, you
have the choice of :
1. Extra fuel
2. A repair kit
3. Ammo for the machine gun
4. Extra mines
5. Additional nitro boost
The power ring adds a very cool strategic element to the game and will be
tested and tweaked to perfection before release.
All of these features are currently working, and we're having a grand time
testing them out, and it is just as exciting as it sounds, if a bit
overwhelming at first, as you will be busier than a one legged man in a three
legged race taking care of all the battle systems while racing through loops,
over hurdles and around curves.
More goodies will be coming, but I am keeping them under wraps for now until
I am sure we can implement them all.
One item I can tell you about for sure is a hot grenade, sort of like a hot
potato, which will be tossed from racer to racer until its timer expires and it
explodes. Do you hold on to it until the last second, or get rid of it
immediately and hope it doesn't come back to you, decisions, decisions....
I think the folks willing to put in a little time to learn to operate the
battle systems smoothly will appreciate this as one of the most adrenaline
pumping games ever released for the blind.
Before you ask, right now beta testing is invitation only, but soon I will be
opening the testing up to owners of Rail Racer.
I send this email to give you a little preview of what is to come and get
feedback on what you guys think of the concept so far.
If you have any questions, fire away and I'll do my best to answer them.
I look forward to hearing from you all.
If you reply to this message, please be considerate and delete the previous
post as this is already a rather long message, thanks.
  Take care,
