Hi,
There are a lot of interactive fiction games, coming in all flavours and
genres. Fantasy, science-fiction, romance, and so on. They are mostly
puzzle-like, and require a great deal of time, determination and imagination
to complete. There are some interpreters such as, WinFrotz (which loads
files with the extention of .zip, .z5, .z8, .zblorb, and so on), WinTads or
HTML Tads (which open files with .gam extentions), Adrift, Atari, JACL (the
language I work with), and much much more.
If you are looking for a list of games, though, you can go to two best
places on the net:
First one is Baf's Guide to the Interactive Fiction Archive at
http://www.wurb.com/if
and the second one is Interactive Fiction Database,
http://IFDB.tads.org
which has a great list of interactive fiction, with recommendations and
ratings from other users. If you want to play any of the games in any
platform and you want the interpreter, these four can be played, but they
require you to use your review curser (jaws curser in Jaws, and WindowEyes
curser in Window Eyes). Anyway, the four that can be played most easily are:
JACL games (with .j2 extentions), Tads games (with .gam extentions), adrift
games (with .taf extentions), Inform games (with .z5, .z8, .zblorb and etc
extentions).
If you need more information or the interpreter for any of these, please
feel free to contact me off-list at
[EMAIL PROTECTED]
Hope this helps!
