Hi che. firstly, did you download the update patch, even in the demo version it's necessary for some screens, such as the choice of faction screen. Just unzip the contents to the smugglers 4 folder.
then, when ever you start the game you'll need to activate the compatibility mode found in the game settings in order to get the accessible interface. hth, and I hope you like the game. beware the grue!
