Me too--I think that GTA is more interesting than a lot of accessible
games, even though I can't do all that much on it. The reason is
obvious--there are no accessible games that have millions funding it with
hundreds of folks developing it. That's good I suppose, or I'd be
playing constantly and the kids would feel neglected and my wife would
end up in jail for murdering me...

You and I have much of the same interests and same reaction to games.
lol I was into sryth but got bored. I have been thinking about getting
back into it more recently. but I would start a char all over since it
has been so long since I last played. I am that way with muds, anything.
I am still waiting for the one game, that one that just grabs me and can
hold my attention.

Hi Charles,
As a matter of fact that's almost exactly how I am. I'll play something
like SoundRTS for a week or two, get burned out, play Chess or Uno, get
burned out, and play something else. Eventually, the cycle will start
over. It is actually difficult for a game to keep my attention for very
long.
Take Sryth for example. While I truely enjoy the game I go through
spells where I play it almost every day, and then there will be a spell
where I don't do anything with my character for a month. Then, one
weekend I'll find myself board, login, and play actively for a week or
so before growing board with it again.
This so-called cycle is what makes it hard for me to complete a game
like Jim's NFL Football game. I'll start out a season make it through 6
or 10 games and get board off my rear. Perhaps a month later I'll start
playing and resume the season again losing my momentum and drive to
make it to the Super Bowl. I've litterally had a game of football last
a year before i made it to the Super Bowl, because even though I like
the game it can't keep my attention for very long. I'll play a couple
of games and not pick it up again for weeks .
Although, I am pretty sure why this happens. The bottom line is there
aren't very many accessible games that truly satisfies me. Before I
lost my vision I was into games like Tomb Raider, Jedi Knight, the
original Heroes Might and Magic, Mech Warrior, and various other games
that were out in the mid 1990's. There are very few accessible games
that really compare. Shades of Doom and GMA Tank Commander are the
closest I can think of which is why I purchased both as soon as I
could. I don't personally get the same entertainment or satisfaction
out of playing Uno, Hearts, Aliens in the Outback, etc. The games are
good in their own way, but not my cup of tea.
Smile.

Just curious if anyone else finds themselves doing this: You are in
the mood to play a particular game. You haven't played it in a while,
and you get caught up in it. You play the heck out of that game, but
none other. After a time, you decide to play another game. You
haven't played that one for a while, and you get caught up in it,
ignoring all other games on your PC. Sort of a game cycle.
