Actually, Packman was originally released in 1982 for the Atari 2600 console. It did not have a dot detector, because it wasn't needed. A sighted person could see the entire maze on screen and could see where all of the dots were. All a person had to do is move his little Packman character--a yello ball with eyes--to the dot in question and eat it.
