If you're that short of RAM you'd better not play Top Speed anyway. ;-)
Furthermore, many people like task switching, which is made possible by a
sleeping JAWS.

Rather than putting JAWS to sleep, uninstall if from memory with insert f4
before starting any game. It will then have absolutely no affect on the
game. When you put JAWS to sleep, it still is in memory and can affect
game play by decreasing the amount of RAM available to the game, among
other things.

Because JAWS has a very nasty habbit of breaking Top Speed's input
management system. That's why we now put it asleep.
