There used to be a really old 60's style one arm bandit in an arcade in
skegness at the seaside over here.
I've never bothered playing the slot machines with the buttons and tickits
and such you mention charles, but that one was great fun.
Beware the grue!

They've taken a lot of the fun out of slot machines, especially in
California the last time I was there. Instead of placing coins or bills
into the machine, you press a button for each coin or bill. Instead of
pulling a handle, you press a button. And you don't get a lot of noise,
no coins dropping into the bin, but just a slip of paper when you choose
to cash out. You then take the printout to the pay window. I very much
prefer the old machines that were noisy. They were a lot more fun.

Hi Ken,
My slot machine only announces the center (win) row. The f1 key will
then announce the row above and the f3 the row below. But, so, until you
use the f1 key, you would not know if you should nudge the wheel or not.
And truthfully my slot machine is just like the ones that I used to play
in Las Vegas and Laughlin. And that is how I like it. Heck I hear that
now a days, you do not even put in a coin or pull the arm to play.
