Agreed Bryan.
To me reducing everything to "happy holidays" is actually offensive to every
religion, rather than inoffensive to all, it's as if none! are worth
acknolidgement.
It reminds me of that quote from the gondoliers, "when everybody's somebody,
then no one's anybody!"
beware the grue!
Dark.

That's probably why people these days are becoming "politically correct"
and saying happy holidays instead of Merry Christmas. I refuse to do that
personally since I feel political correctness is crap. But I've even heard
that in some schools you can actually get in trouble for saying Merry
Christmas anymore.
They're coming to take me away, ha-haaa!

Hello Thomas,
Thanks, I thanked Dark because he said something without knowing that, or
even whether, someone was on the list who would appreciate it. The
assumption of the dominant religion / religions appears to be that
following and acknowledging their special days is all that matters. When
a person is comfortably in said religion, that person tends to not notice
those who are on the outside, but expects those on the outside to notice
said person's religious beliefs / requirements.

Hi David,
Happy solstice to you. As list moderators we don't know everyone
individually, do not know the religious practices of our list members,
and it is easy to overlook holidays that don't get a lot of public
attention. So here is a big happy solstice to you and everyone who
celebrate it.

Hello Dark,
I just wanted to say thank you. You are the only person, from all of
the
lists which I am on, who wished a good solstice. Solstice is my special
and
sacred day for this time of year, and I very much appreciate your
mentioning
it.
With my most sincere gratitude and thanks,
