okay here's what I found works, get a bunch of normal grenades from the stage 3 shop, rockets for the rocket launcher can help too the trick I used is when he's right next to you he'll power up and fire about 10 times, so run past him while he's targeting, turn, press tab, go to items and que a bunch of grenades weird thing is they don't actually blow each other up in this game, so repeat until you're out of grenades, then do the same with the rocket launcher hth
