Abandonware means that the developer has essentially given up on the
project. It is made freely available for anyone, but the developer will
answer no questions about it or work anymore on it. Dan Z's games for
instance available on the Usa games site are abandonware in this way, so is
the savage gammet.
Btw, I'm amazed you actually got to speak to bavisoft at all! last I heard
from them was in august of 2009, and that as Bryan said was when someone
threatened to post their games up somewhere for free download but all they
said was "don't do it" and answered nobody's questions.
Though their games showed promise for the time they were released, audio
games are much more developed now, and if they came back it'd probably take
a good deal of good publicity from them before they would be trusted.
Indeed, if Chillingham 2 came out and was only orderable on Cd, I might well
not order it myself for fear it'd never arrive.

This is however a problem sinse I've heard of several cases of lost
orders, cds going missing etc, and Bavisoft don't respond, so in all
honesty I wouldn't recommend trying to order them. however sinse the
games aren't officially abandonware anyone posting them up for download
elsewhere could potentially get into trouble.
I actually really wish Bavisoft would either update their stupid cd
ordering system or just declare the games abandonware and throw in the
towel.

Grizly gulch has similar gameplay to chillingham with the left right
targitng but is much simpler, ---- indeed in some ways too simple.
it has a kind of story, and casino games to playand does have an
ending, but it's not what I'd call a propper plot, rather a framing
story for a set of action sequences and games of chance.
On the other hand the voice acting is rather funny in places, and the
gun fights are amusing, and can even be challenging on higher
difficulties and speeds, so it's up to you.
