Hi, Well, if one of the insane scientists steel something from you getting the item or items back is pretty easy. Find the scientist who stoll said items, and injure or kill him. Usually once you injure him he'll drop the items and run. Of course, if one of them takes something of mine I make the scientist pay with his life. :D
As for loosing the game that's hard to say without knowing the specifics. There are a number of difficulties on that level that can be challenging like the blob in the toilet, the two mutant humans with guns and battle armor, etc. Knowing the specifics of what challenge you are having difficulty with will help us get an idea how to help you.
