That makes sense now, I think I was expecting it to alter my health to 102% but now I understand how it works so thanks to both of you that replied

Since your max health is now 102, you see it reporting 98% health. The same thing will happen when you use med kits, in that they will report slightly less than 20% restored. What is happening is that the status command reports your health as a percentage of your max, so you don't see any difference when you boost your health since 102/102 is still 100%.
