There are literally hundreds these days, and it's a little hard to recommend some without a more precise idea of the sort of thing you might like.

there are for instance a number of free audio games that just use sound, and a huge range of textual brouser games and muds that can be played on the internet which are either free, or can be played for free though have some payment options.

If you go to www.audiogames.net you can find a huge index of over 400 accessible games (there is also a list at www.pcsgames.net).

i mention the audiogames.net database especially though sinse you can use the "search archive" link to search for games of a particular license type, such as freeware, donation (which is an optional donation to a free game), or abandonware (which are also free).

I would however suggest you try some commercial games too, sinse a lot of work goes into creating them, and developers' really need people's support.

There are always free demos to play to give you an idea of the game.
