HI, Just to add to this. yes, the current way of saving a game is to be in the safe zone, and pres the esc key. you don't need to totally exit the game to save. But this only works in the safe zone and no where else.
and yes, when you die, you lose everything you have collected. When you start over, you get the supplies mentioned previously. Unfortunately, in this case, if you die there has to be a consequence and losing everything is it. So my suggestion is not to died. LOL Good luck.
